Don Morreale’s PowerPoint presentation will tell the story of this controversial 650-foot-long mosaic tile mural (one of the largest murals in the world) on the Welton St. side of the Colorado Convention Center. Don will discuss ‘the big controversy’.
The mural features 168 little-known Colorado historic figures of all genders and ethnicities, historical scenes, and events from 1850 to the late 1980s. Note: The sheets of ceramic tiles were made in N.Y. from photographs.
This presentation will include facts about its creator, artist Barbara Jo Revelle. Don will also mention other tile murals she has done.
Ms. Revelle was the first teacher of photography at CU in the 80s and is currently a Professor Emeritus of Art and Art History at the U. of FL. She lives in Massachusetts.
