The program follows a pioneer family from Kentucky who joined the wagon train from Pike County Missouri to travel 900 plus miles during the 1859 Colorado Gold Rush.  Props, songs and stories impart insight into the Civil War, Mining, Railroads, Native American lore, the Settlers, and three famous Colorado women!

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER AND MUSICIAN–CALVIN WEATHERALL

Calvin Weatherall (The Hat Man) is a Canadian currently living near Olde Town Arvada.  He brings a high-energy, good-time variety show with a great array of instruments, props, humor, accents, heart-felt singing, stories, and…..hats!

Elements in each show are built around a theme and audience participation is encouraged. In fact we will be singing along to some songs such as 16 Tons and I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.

PROGRAM SPONSOR:  Sedalia Museum and Gardens

Volunteers from the Sedalia Museum and Gardens will have a table with displays and materials about the Museum and the upcoming plant sale (May 17 from 9 am – 2 pm)

Look for seed packets and all things spring planting!  Susan Bell from the Garden states ” We have an annual  heirloom plant sale that funds the Museum.  I think HR residents would love what we grow because the plants are specific to our climate and challenges.”

PROGRAM SPONSOR:  Rick Martin, CPA, Charter Financial.

Rick Martin, CPA, Charter Financial will have a partner table and provide some insight into the upcoming INCOME TAX RETURNS.  California wildfire victims qualify for automatic tax extension until October 15th.  What does that mean for them?   And what can YOU learn from that now.
