The Highlands Ranch Historical Society enjoyed a different type of program on Monday, November 20, 2023.   Instead of the usual sit-down and listen to a presentation, the members and guests were treated to an active walk-about, visiting 27 Colorado Authors at their table-displays.  The Authors Forum was coordinated by Sara Lebofsky, VP of Programs, and Moderated by Jean Jacobsen, Castle Rock Writers.

This was a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the authors, asking questions, reviewing their books, and even making some literary purchases! The participating authors were well prepared for the onslaught of visitors.  Displaying attractive tables with their books front and center, the authors greeted the visitors, answered questions, sold books, made connections for future activities, and generally had a great time.

At the end of the evening, many of the authors had generously donated a book, to be given away in a drawing for attendees.  Over 20 books were donated and distributed to the fortunate winners of the drawing.

The HRHS Board of Directors were on hand to issue a bittersweet send off to BOD VP, Paul McKeag, who retired from the Board after 10 years of dedicated and active service.

Thank you authors, attendees, and HRHS for providing this interactive and fun-filled event.   And of course, thank you to our guest business sponsor, Douglas County Libraries, and HRCA Southridge Auditorium for the fabulous Auditorium (tonight and all year!)
