Golf is and has been big business in Highlands Ranch ever since the opening of the Links, the first golf course, in 1987. Commissioned and built by Mission Viejo, it has served the community for many years, and is still going strong. University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch, on the west side, is the second golf course that has enjoyed many years of community support.
This oral history, by Bill and Sandy Loeffler examines both courses and their impact upon the community. The Loefflers have a unique perspective to share, being well respected in the golf community as a whole, and also having played and owned BOTH courses over their career and residency in Douglas County!
