September 27 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

WALKING HISTORY TOUR OF FITZSIMONS MEDICAL CAMPUS AND EISENHOWER SUITE

Enjoy the early fall colors, weather and peaceful surroundings as you stroll the old  Fitzsimons Medical Campus, learning about the history of the Fitzsimons Army Hospital, which opened in 1918, visiting the historic areas such as Colonels Row  and culminating in a visit to the Eisenhower Suite of Rooms inside Building 500.

Dwight D. Eisenhower had a massive heart attack after golfing at Cherry Hills Golf Club and was treated at the Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora.  His suite of rooms remains the same today as it was back in 1955.

Keith Outcelt, Historian from the Aurora History Museum is our guide.

Includes Box Lunch.  Transportation to Fitzsimons is on your own (Anschutz Medical, Colfax just west of I-225).
