Program: LOU AND JONBENÉT A LEGENDRY LAWMAN’S QUEST TO SOLVE A CHILD BEAUTY QUEEN’S MURDER

November 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

This author talk is based on the book, Lou and JonBenét, written by John Wesley Anderson and published by WildBlue Press LLC (www.WildBluePress.org). Lou and JonBenét tells the inside story of the murder of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, who was murdered in her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado, on Christmas night 1996. A ransom note was found in the home, but it was hours before her father found her body in the basement. She had been strangled with a garrote and her skull had been fractured.

Legendary Detective Lou Smit was hired by the Boulder District Attorney to assist in the investigation. After 18 months, Lou resigned in protest as a grand jury was being empanelled to indict the parents. Lou continued to work the case on his own time, and at his own expense, for the rest of his life. When Lou passed away in 2010, his family and a handful of retired detectives, including the author, teamed up to finish Lou’s work.
