John spent 4 years exploring the Great Plains of eastern Colorado for an extraordinary look at Weld County, Colorado’s 3rd largest county.  This book is about Colorado’s prairie landscapes depicting farms and ranches, the Poudre, Platte and St. Vrain rivers, the grasslands and Pawnee Buttes, old towns and buildings, wildlife galore, and ‘then & now’ photographs of historical Weld County.

Weld’s de facto official historian, Peggy Ford Waldo, has written text to “connect the dots” from the county’s creation in 1861 to what has become Colorado’s fastest growing major county, yet still a place defined by its remoteness.

John contributes 30% to the HRHS. This is an opportunity to do some holiday shopping, get personalized autographs for recipients, and help support the Highlands Ranch Historical Society.
