Highlands Ranch Historical Society members enjoyed an entertaining tour to the Flying W Ranch, where dinner, show, and many activities were the highlights of a fun evening!

We enjoyed a stress-free ride on a large bus coach to Colorado Springs, and arrived refreshed and ready to go at the Flying W Ranch, located near the Garden of the Gods.

The grounds of the Flying W are spacious and beautiful, with many activities which kept us busy before the dinner and show.  We enjoyed the various ranch animals, including horses, cattle, donkeys and ducks!

Ax-throwing and Native American Dances were entertaining, as was the well stocked gift shop and beautiful surroundings.

Finally, at 6:30 pm the dinner bell rang, and we all gathered together for dinner!   It went remarkably quick and easy to get thru the line, as long as the rules were followed!

Delicious chicken, brisket, and all of the fixings were enjoyed by the group.

The Country Show started promptly at 7:30 pm with songs, jokes, beautiful videos, and everyone easily got into the “cowboy” country rhythm.  We were told that the difference between Country Music and Cowboy Music was simple–Country music included songs of love and love-lost.  Cowboy music including songs of cattle, horses and beautiful harmonies!  We were in for a treat! We enjoyed the Wranglers!

We left the Flying B around 8:30 pm for the nighttime drive back to Highlands Ranch, happy and humming those beautiful tunes.
