(Photo above: Opening night at Vassar Playhouse June 18, 1970. Coming up on 53 years since opening!)
Veda Rogers and her husband followed her dreams resulting in sixteen seasons owning a summer theater in a rural Kansas country barn (the Vassar Playhouse in Osage County, Kansas). Her husband also purchased what became a dinner/theater showboat and then laid tracks around the theater property for a dinner/theater train.
Veda included her children and furnishings in the productions. She kept great ledgers, auditioned and hired professionals and non-professionals, and kept lots of pictures and negatives. These photos and stories of stage plays and musicals will have you remembering great times. Join us for a fun evening and wonderful memories.
