In 1759, when George Washington married Martha Dandridge Custis, neither bride nor groom could possibly have imagined the many aspects of the life they would share through the next thirty-eight years. This presentation is an in-depth look at America’s First Couple and the ways in which they worked with and supported each other through the tumultuous period that marked the beginning of this nation’s history. It is a fitting way to celebrate both Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day.
