Jennifer Hankinson with The Littleton Museum presents this overview of the city of Littleton, as well as the Museum and Farm.  According to Littleton's official website, Littleton is Anything BUT Little!  Our close neighbor to the north has had an exciting and eventful past, which is very much alive today!  One can feel the vibrancy coupled with a solid sense of past, while strolling Main Street Littleton, and when walking and driving on the many charming residential streets and neighborhoods.  Plus, 2015 is the 125th Anniversary of Littleton!  Learn about milestones, and more.  Main events, places, and people will be highlighted during this fascinating arm-chair tour of Littleton.  Additionally, the Museum and surrounding farm will be visited.

For more than 40 years, the Littleton Museum has served as the primary repository for the history, art, and culture of Littleton. Located on 39 acres, the museum consists of two living history farms (one representing  the 1860’s and one representing the 1890’s), a small lake, a collections center, and a main exhibition and administration building.

The main building was renovated and expanded in 2004, increasing the structure’s square footage from 9,000 to almost 32,000. The new building, which opened in February 2005, houses the museum’s four galleries, research center, lecture hall, educational classrooms, and offices. Often cited as one of the top ten local history museums in the United States, the Littleton Museum has an outstanding reputation within the museum community.

Be sure to visit attend this interesting program, presented by staff from the Littleton Museum.  We will also learn about an upcoming group tour of the Littleton Museum and Farm, scheduled for Tuesday, June 23 (picnic at 12, Museum and Farm tour at 1 pm)
