Jonny Barber

The Colfax Avenue History will surprise, info about the Colfax Museum will amaze, and a special guest may entertain us.

Jonny Barber will enlighten us about the life and legends of the longest commercial street, the start of the Beat Generation and a ton of Colorado Pop Culture and History thrown in for good measure. We will see an interesting powerpoint, learn about his extensive collection in his museum, and see some artifacts, art and memorabilia including a Iguanadon footprint dating back 150 million years to the Jurassic period.

Jonny's Colfax Museum caught on quick. The Los Angeles Times ran a front page story with a full color photo a mere 24 hours after the museum opened!!

Jonny always tells his tales with a good dose of humor so be prepared to learn and laugh because history should have always been this much fun!!

Jonny Barber is a Renaissance Man with many talents as an actor, writer, filmmaker, singer/songwriter, guitar player, historian, and even a one-time Elvis Impersonator. He was given the name "The Velvet Elvis" when a fan once remarked, "It's not so much you look like Elvis as you do a painting of Elvis." His shows have taken him all over the world.

Jonny and his wife Anistacia started in 2004 to chronicle the longest, wickedest street in America. This ultimately led to the creation of The Colfax Museum in November 2017. Jonny is also the VP of the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame opening soon on East Colfax in Aurora.

Nancy's tour date of the Colfax Museum will be on Wed., August 29.
